Last updated: January 1, 2025

1. Information We Collect

Red Brush collects personal information from two categories of users: homeowners seeking painting services and painting contractors seeking leads. The types of information collected vary by user type.

From Homeowners, we collect:

  • Full name, email address, and phone number
  • Property address and zip code
  • Project details including type of painting work, estimated scope, timeline, and budget range
  • Any additional information voluntarily provided in project description fields

From Painting Contractors, we collect:

  • Full name and business name
  • Business address, service area zip codes, and contact information
  • Licensing and insurance information where required for verification
  • Years in business, team size, and services offered
  • Payment and billing information for lead purchases
  • Lead response and outcome data used to evaluate platform performance

Automatically collected information includes IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages visited, time spent on the platform, and referring URLs. This data is collected through standard web technologies including cookies and analytics tools.

2. How We Use Your Information

Red Brush uses collected information for the following purposes:

  • Lead matching and delivery: Homeowner contact details and project information are used to identify and notify qualified local painting contractors who match the project requirements.
  • Platform operations: We use your information to manage accounts, process payments, send notifications, and provide customer and contractor support.
  • Quality improvement: Contractor feedback and outcome data are used to refine our lead scoring models, improve matching accuracy, and enhance the overall quality of leads distributed through the platform.
  • Communications: We may contact you regarding your account, submitted requests, lead activity, platform updates, or changes to our policies.
  • Legal compliance: We may use your information as necessary to comply with applicable laws, respond to legal process, or enforce our terms and agreements.

We do not use your personal information to serve third-party advertising or sell access to your data for marketing purposes unrelated to the Red Brush platform.

3. How We Share Your Information

Red Brush shares homeowner contact information only with painting contractors who have been matched to a specific lead request. This sharing is subject to the following limitations and conditions:

Contractor Cap: Homeowner contact information is shared with a maximum of four (4) painting contractors per lead request. This cap is contractually enforced and is not subject to override, exception, or paid upgrade.

Contractors who receive homeowner information are bound by our Contractor Terms, which prohibit use of that information for any purpose other than responding to the specific lead for which it was provided.

We do not:

  • Sell personal information to third-party data brokers, advertisers, or lead resellers
  • Share homeowner contact information with parties outside the matched contractor pool
  • Redistribute or repackage lead data after initial delivery

We may share information with third-party service providers who assist in operating our platform — such as payment processors, SMS delivery services, and analytics providers — under strict contractual data protection obligations. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of Red Brush, our users, or the public.

4. Data Retention

Red Brush retains personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, maintain accurate business records, and comply with legal obligations.

  • Homeowner data is retained for a period of twenty-four (24) months following submission, after which it is deleted or anonymized unless a legal hold or ongoing dispute requires extended retention.
  • Contractor account data is retained for the duration of the contractor's active relationship with Red Brush and for a period of thirty-six (36) months following account closure for financial recordkeeping and dispute resolution purposes.
  • Lead records including delivery logs, timestamps, and outcome data are retained for a minimum of thirty-six (36) months to support dispute resolution and platform quality analysis.
